Protest/Rally

Saturday, March 4, 12noon-3pm, Goodale Park, 120 W. Goodale St.; Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St.; Goodale Park. 120 W. Goodale St.

This will be a peaceful and lawful demonstration of activists and citizens who desire to raise up the racial, social, ecological, and economic injustice and inequalities that plague Columbus. We are determined to educate and strengthen each other by this fellowship.

Saturday, February 18, 10:30am-12:30pm, Chase Bank [Kingsdale], 3250 Tremont Rd.

Come take a stand with us against Energy Transfer Partners [ETP] as we peacefully put pressure on Chase Bank to defund DAPL [the Dakota Access Pipeline] and Rover Pipeline!

Close your Chase Bank accounts and support others who are doing so, telling them to dump ETP [Energy Transfer Partners]!

Let’s take a stand together against unsustainable practices and dirty money tactics.

Wednesday, February 22, 12:30-1:30pm, outside of U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s Columbus office, 37 W. Broad St., Ste. 300

SPAN [Single Payer Action Network] Ohio will be holding a rally prior to a meeting with Senator Rob Portman in his Columbus office. This rally will assemble in the park next to the building.

SPAN Ohio will be asking that Senator Portman support Medicare for All: a health care system that is universal, of high quality, comprehensive, publicly financed, not tied to employment, accountable to the citizens of the country, and not accountable to Wall Street.

Monday, January 30, 6:30-9:30pm, Ohio Statehouse

Donald Trump is officially president. He has taken power of a government that is entirely out of control. Our elected representatives have no problem with oppressing the working class in order to expand their financial gains.

The women’s march and anti-inauguration protests around the world have been an incredible success in terms of getting people together in order to organize our long lasting resistance.

Friday, January 27, 4pm, OSU Oval [near the Thompson statue]

Refugees are welcome here! No human being is illegal!

On Friday, January 27, we will be rallying near the Thompson Statue on the OSU Oval (at 4pm) in response to Trump’s explicit targeting of refugee and immigrant communities.

In the seven days since Trump has taken power, he has pushed forward a slate of reactionary executive orders:

• Authorizing the expansion of the US-Mexico border wall

• Stripping federal grant money to sanctuary cities

• Hiring 5000 border patrol agents

Friday, February 24, 3:30pm, gathering at the Wexner Center Plaza at the corner of N. High St. and 15th Ave.; the march will leave at approximately 3:45pm

The Ohio State University is one of the largest public universities in the country. So what do we do when the administration tries to sell our tax-payer owned energy management system to a private corporation, for private profit and benefit, at the expense of unionized campus workers? We fight back.

Thursday, January 26, 12noon, Chase Bank [Broad St. Downtown], 100 E. Broad St.

Divest your money from the Dakota Access Pipeline!

With Trump as president, the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline [DAPL] is not over. There will be a rally in front of Chase Bank, 100 E. Broad St., asking their patrons to divest their money from the institutions that stand to profit from the pipeline.

If you bank with Chase, divest now!

Friday, January 20, 11:30am-1:30pm, OSU Oval

Join us on the OSU Oval at 11:30am on Inauguration Day, Friday, January 20, to stand strong against Donald Trump’s racist, sexist, anti-immigrant agenda.

Students and non-students alike are welcome!

Donald Trump and the Republican Party are preparing to unleash a storm of attacks on women, immigrants, the Muslim community, LGBTQ people, workers, and the environment. We must stand together in solidarity against Trump’s attempts to divide us!
