Protest/Rally

Tuesday, April 16, 4:15-6:15pm, St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad St.

“As all of the priests of the Columbus Diocese gather for the annual Chrism Mass, we will pray for the inclusion of those who are excluded.”

“We are called to love those who our church excludes; called to pray and act publicly on behalf of others. We have family and friends excluded from priesthood, marriage, communion, or a voice in the church. Come on behalf of the excluded, or on behalf of your children and their children. We have signs for you or make your own.”

Tuesday, March 19, 11am-2pm, Ohio Statehouse [Rm. 116]

The next hearing on the six-week abortion ban is on Tuesday, March 19. This hearing will be for testimony from the bill sponsor and anti-abortion witnesses who support the bill. Senator Kristina Roegner will tell the committee about her plan to effectively end abortion access, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or to adequately protect the health of the woman.

The Honorable Sacred Knights, a KKK organization with roots in Madison, Indiana, are bringing their nonsense to Dayton on May 25. They have acquired a permit to demonstrate at the Old Court House, though they claim that they will be at an unnamed location nearby.

Friday, March 15, 8am-6pm [Coordinated Universal Time] [formerly known as Greenwich Mean Time]; 4am-2pm [Eastern Daylight Time]; everywhere in the United Kingdom and in the world

Let’s show that we stand in support with Greta and all the young people striking for climate on 15th March. Young people will lead the way, but we want to show that we support them in their fight to get our governments and businesses to act immediately, to ensure a future free of climate catastrophe for our youth and children.

Monday, January 14, 5-7pm, Columbus City Hall, 90 W. Broad St.

We’ve received word that Columbus City Council is going to vote in favor of massive $13,000 donation limits to city campaigns at Monday’s City Council session. There has been a lot of public opposition to this proposal, and virtually no public support. We will be presenting our petition tomorrow night, and we want you to be there, to show City Council that we demand a voice in our government, and we won’t stand by in silence while City Council writes its own rules and shuts out working families.

Friday, January 11, 12noon-1pm, outside of U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s Columbus office, 37 W. Broad St., Ste. 300

Join our union brothers and sisters of AFGE [American Federation of Government Employees] for a rally this Friday, January 11, to end the government shutdown. Every day that this government shutdown drags on, hundreds of thousands of working people are denied a paycheck and millions lose the vital government services that we deserve. Real families with very real bills are being harmed and it’s time we hold our country’s leadership accountable.
