Explore the beautiful world of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music with The Early Interval. Playing on wind, bowed string, plucked string, keyboard, and percussion instruments that are authentic to this period, The Early Interval will take you back to the Middle Ages for an hour you won’t forget.

The Early Interval is the resident ensemble for the “Early Music in Columbus” concert series; they are this year’s featured artists at the Jefferson Academy of Music.

Sunday, December 2, 11am, St. John’s United Church of Christ, 59 East Mound St.

Handel’s Messiah, the Christmas Portion and the Hallelujah Chorus, will be performed at St. John’s United Church of Christ on Sunday, December 2 at 11am under the direction of May Schwarz, Minister of Music at St. John’s.

This popular choral masterpiece was composed by Handel, depressed and in debt, in 1741, in just 24 days. It was first performed at the Music Hall in Dublin, Ireland on April 13, 1742.

Friday, November 23, 7:30-9pm, Maynard Ave. United Methodist Church, 2350 Indianola Ave.

Instead of spending the day at the mall buying tons of stuff we don’t really need, guitarist and pianist Bill Cohen offers another option as he sings songs expressing gratitude for the things that really matter in our lives — friends, family, freedom, nature, music, art, and more.

Sunday, November 18, 3pm, First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd.

We are the city’s only feminist chorus, about fifty voices singing for you or for someone you know, since 1989.

Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door or from our website. Sliding scale tickets [pay what you are able] will also be available at the door. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.
