Green Columbus Seventh Annual Tree Giveaway

This fall, Green Columbus will be hosting its seventh annual tree giveaway in an effort to increase the urban forest of Columbus. We will be hosting three free tree giveaways to distribute hundreds of three-gallon native trees to Columbus residents. Residents may choose from a variety of species — red oak, tulip poplar, red maple, black cherry, and sycamore — all of which are native to Ohio and support native plants and animals. Trees are grown in our tree nursery in Linden, Ohio.

Now in its twelfth year, the CRIS [Community Refugee and Immigration Services] 5K and Advocacy Fair is our largest annual event, bringing together hundreds of Central Ohioans in support of refugees and immigrants in our community. Whether you’re a runner, walker, or a friend of CRIS, we would love for you to join us in downtown Columbus at Genoa Park on Saturday, October 4, for a morning of fitness, food, and fun.
We have a 5K run/walk, a one-mile untimed walk, and free kids’ fun run; there’s something for everyone!
