Homebound Entrepreneurs Against DeWines’ TV ad buy aims to tell conservative voters the juicy truth about Justice Pat DeWine’s two messy divorces

Just in time for the general election on November 8, Homebound Entrepreneurs Against DeWines is putting its hard hitting political ad “Cheating Pat DeWine” on Fox News outlets around Ohio this week, including in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton. The ad features the vocal talents of comedian/podcaster Corinne Fisher.

JD Vance is on the precipice of becoming the next US Senator from Ohio, and how this came to pass has Ohio Dems facing another nightmarish defeat.

Whether it was Trump’s endorsement, an injection of campaign cash from gay-libertarian billionaire Peter Thiel, or Tim Ryan’s late campaign blunders, the bottom line is: Vance has become MAGA’s most visible representation in Ohio.

Who would have guessed the kid from Middletown, saved by that community’s Children Services, would be drinking from Trump’s (cool aide) strategy? Power and fame are powerful drugs, too apparently.

The former never-Trumper has been referring to migrants as “illegal aliens” while also pushing “The Great Replacement Theory,” even though his wife, Usha Chilukuri, is Indian American, known as the highest-earning ethnic-group in the US. Without a doubt, Indian Americans have created and will continue to create many, many jobs for white Americans.

Scientific misconduct charges at Ohio State University (OSU) expose systemic misconduct, indeed institutional malpractice, of the institution itself.

In 2011, Purdue University medical researcher David A Sanders, PhD, informed the Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) and the US Office of Research Integrity (ORI) that he was accusing Dr. Carlo Croce’s lab of scientific misconduct. OSU’s ORI closed the investigation in 2015 and concluded there was no misconduct. The charges were re-opened in 2017 after an article about Dr Carlo Croce in the New York Times accused him of misconduct, again with many quotes by David A Sanders.

OSU referred the accusations to a committee known as COMIC that focused their investigation on two female researchers in the Croce lab: Drs. Garofalo and Pichiorri. They had left OSUMC in 2014 and 2016 for positions in England and Los Angeles, respectively.

To keep the general election season entertaining, the anti-DeWine PAC Homebound Entrepreneurs Against DeWines has released its final quirky political ad of the election season called “Everybody Hates Mike,” a 1950s-style jingle that takes on Governor Mike DeWine for ruling over Ohioans like a “tiny tyrant who no one likes.”

Both African Americans and progressives in Ohio are wondering if throwing a football at a TV screen is the Tim Ryan blunder which makes Ohio even more MAGA?

Tim Ryan’s most widely-recognized TV commercial to date – smashing a football into a television screen depicting “Defund the Police” – may sway some moderate Republicans to vote Democrat over JD Vance, but this same commercial could also backfire.

“It’s going to cost him votes,” says Charles Traylor, an African American from Columbus who hosts the radio show ‘Front Street.’“The voters’ psyche can be very fickle. When you say you’re against ‘Defunding the Police,’ what you are saying to victims of police abuse is, ‘I care more about protecting police officers than I do protecting people from bad police officers.’”

Traylor gets what Ryan is trying to do, and many other pundits get it as well. Ryan is unapologetically seeking to reverse Trump’s gains with white people in Ohio. But African Americans also remember what helped fuel Trump to power – white people’s (bigoted) anger.

Above all, one golden attribute renders our species worth saving: a capacity for compassion, to see the world through another’s eyes, and to feel it with a shared heart.

It’s the rare empathetic genius whose music can evoke, exalt and immortalize that capacity.

In case you haven’t noticed, there is an election being held in November – November 8th to be exact – and you must participate if eligible. The stakes are high.

You say, there’s nothing in this election for me. Do you use cannabis even occasionally? Do you or a family member have a medical condition? Do you know someone who has been incarcerated for marijuana, or someone who has lost privileges because of a cannabis conviction? Do you believe in social justice? Do you want a vibrant economy?  I could go on, but you get point. The herb in its many forms has become an important issue in the lives of many Americans.

The Free Press community gathered Saturday, October 8 for the Second Saturday Salon. But it was a special salon event, as it doubled as the annual awards ceremony. This year, the Free Press honored Joe Motil with the 2022 "Libby" award for Lifetime Achievement in Community Activism.

Mark introduced Esther Flores, the 2021 Free Press Libby award honoree, spoke about Libby Gregory, former Free Press editor and namesake of the annual award. Libby was a tireless activist and advocate for human rights, as is Esther, who manages 1DivineLine2Health, a local nonprofit that works with "street sisters."

Thanks to you folks who are giving your Saturday hours on this international day to defend Julian Assange. Thousands of people have now formed a human chain around Parliament in London demanding Julian Assange’s Freedom. There is a Hands Off Assange event at the Justice Department in D.C. right now, with a list of VIP speakers and public intellectuals who are defending Julian Assange because of what his prosecution represents. We marched down to the Federal Courthouse because this is the institution that is charged to keep the government’s actions in line with the U.S. Constitution and our cherished Bill of Rights.

As election season arrives again, all Ohio voters need to do is look around and ask themselves –– have the last few decades of Ohio Republican Party rule been worth it? Has it been worth being an international embarrassment in headlines around the world? Has it been worth seeing “Ohio” trending on social media every time some bonkers bullshit is spouted at our Statehouse? Has it been worth being named #1 in public corruption –– according to experts –– since Larry Householder’s legislature took power? Has it been worth the pain and suffering that average and lower income Ohioans are experiencing, finding themselves on the end of our state’s senseless laws and policies? Well, I know how I feel! Traveling as much as I do, I’ve seen how Ohio has become a running joke across the nation and world.
