Over the weekend, Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation in the Southeast and left more than 100 people dead and communities reeling. From record-breaking climate disasters to rising threats from extremist plots like Project 2025 -- it's a lot to hold all at once. The climate crisis, driven by the continued burning of fossil fuels, is causing weather events like this one to be more frequent and more intense.  We must take bold climate action.  Join us for a livestream with Sierra Club experts to make sense of the moment, learn what this means for the climate and our future, and find out how to get involved.

If there is anyone who can protect Central Ohio’s water supply from Intel, it is the grassroots environmental group the Columbus Community Bill of Rights (CCBOR).

For years they have warned that toxic radioactive fracking wastewater has been leaking out of 13 storage chambers located above the region’s watershed. And even if the proof is not definitive, it is likely an unknown amount of this fracking “brine” has moved down through the area’s five major rivers.

The oil and gas industry is not to be trusted, but on the horizon is perhaps the Columbus CCBOR’s greatest challenge. Intel’s massive New Albany campus which will be sucking 1.5 million gallons or more of water per day out of the Hoover Reservoir – a major source of water for the City of Columbus – beginning in 2027. Apparently this is needed to make their advanced microchips, as the tech giant demands.

Our planet is choking on plastic and it is imperative that we change how we produce, use and dispose of plastics.  But Big Oil & Gas along with the Petrochemical Industry, driven by greed are doing their best to confuse consumers so this doesn’t happen.  We’ll hear from plastic experts from Athens based Rethink Plastic and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services on the problem with plastics and the new greenwashing threat of “Advanced Chemical” recycling during our plastics 101 teach-in.

As a full year of genocide approaches, the zionist regime’s ruthless aggression has only intensified. With over 300,000 martyrs in Gaza and apocalyptic scenes unfolding in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, the occupation’s fascism continues to be laid bare before our eyes.

It has never been more vital to show a unified front against the ongoing genocide in Palestine. We urge everyone to join us at every event to honor all our martyrs and continue the fight for liberation. As long as Palestine, Lebanon, and other countries stand steadfast in their resistance against the zionist entity, so do we. We will remain fearlessly until liberation is achieved.

• The festival is all outdoors, except for the workshop and sensory tent as they are covered. There will be air purifiers in the tent spaces.

• There is a paved pathway that runs throughout the park that will be clearly marked on the festival map.

• There will be ASL interpreters for the performances.

• There will be hand sanitizer stations throughout the park.

Water is life. Water is a necessary item to survive.

The Open Shelter needs bottled water for the homeless & marginally housed men, women, and children we serve. Can you help with a donation of a case or more?
